Daily Reader is provided by [Stephen Sarpong-Sei]. This policy explains how the Daily Reader Android application handles information.

Information we collect

Daily Reader does not require an account and does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal information with the developer. The current version contains no advertising, analytics, social-login, or user-tracking SDKs.

Information stored on the device

The app stores the selected playback time, whether scheduled playback is enabled, and a local cache of the latest successful daily reading. This information remains on the device and can be removed by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.

Network connections and third-party services

Daily Reader connects directly to https://wol.jw.org/ to retrieve publicly available daily-reading content. Like other internet services, that website may receive technical connection information such as the device’s IP address and user-agent information and may handle it according to its own privacy policy.

Daily Reader uses the Android text-to-speech service selected on the device. Depending on the selected speech engine and voice, speech may be generated locally or processed by that provider. The provider’s privacy policy applies. The app sends only the public reading being spoken, not user-authored text.

Permissions

• Internet: Downloads the current daily reading.
• Notifications: Shows playback status and a stop control.
• Alarms and reminders: Starts the user-requested reading at the selected time.
• Foreground service: Keeps spoken playback active when the app is not visible.
• Start after reboot: Restores an enabled schedule after restart.

Security, retention, and deletion

Network requests use HTTPS. The developer does not maintain a server-side user database for Daily Reader. Locally stored settings and cached content remain until the user clears app storage or uninstalls the app.

Children’s privacy

Daily Reader is not specifically directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app’s features or data practices change. The effective date will be revised when changes are made.
